PMM Student’s Culture Shock at Sebelas Maret University

Student Exchange Program is intended to provide opportunities for students to learn about the diversity of the archipelago and to expand academic networks among students. This program can be regarded as a means of cross-campus learning. For students who take part in this program will get a conversion of 20 credits.

Of course, the student exchange program participants are from different islands from the intended campus. Like Wiena (20) who is one of the PMM students who graduated from Sebelas Maret University. Students from the program must of course adapt back to the new environment.

Many cultural shocks were experienced by the PMM Sebelas Maret University students. One of them is the canteen at Sebelas Maret University which sells food in a buffet, and also pays at the end after eating. Why is there a culture shock for PMM students? because most students in their University cheat if the sales system is made that way.

The next culture shock for Wiena was that at half past eight the lectures had already started, because on the Wiena campus the morning lectures started at 8 in the morning. Outside the campus, there are still many cultural shocks experienced by PMM students, such as the price of food in Solo which is quite cheap but tends to be sweet in taste.

In addition, PMM students can find out more about the Sebelas Maret University campus and add to the experience of studying at Sebelas Maret University for one semester.
